Stereotypes and Labels

Ah! I hate them!! Stereotypes that is. Labels too, they're are stupid and people only use them to make themselves feel better. It makes me sick.

Stereotypes are completely pointless and have completely ruined my life at school....since grade 4. Just because your a certain race does no single you out or make you like how the media portrays you.

Labels are pointless too. I don't get the difference....emo? Is it a label, or a type of music genre? No one knows! If your so called, "emo" does that mean your depressed and want to die? What if your punk? Ah! There's another one too! Is punk a label or a music genre?

I have seriously gone out of my mind, stereotypes and labels are the things that ruin a teenagers life. I can't wait until I graduate...

So...what are your thoughts on stereotypes and labels?

Yup, steriotypes are in short retarded. Particularly by age, I get that a lot from certain older strangers I see, who give me glaring looks or actually call me a thug or something under their breaths, when I'm a perfectly well mannered responsable person.
Lol, labels can be a tad confusing, yet most people use this as a way to sum up their own personality, it's just the inconsiderate who say someone else is a certain label of person, since they can't possably know that.

Overall, it will most likely never fade, it'll just get more and more exagerrated and maybe die down, but it will never leave, it's just a human flaw that cannot be avoided unfortunately, we all do steriotype weather we mean to or not, just I personally try not to vocalise it or let it show in any way.

Sterio types are the reason so many lovley dogs are in rescue for so long. Esp with Greyhounds as people think they need a lot of exercise...which they dont, and Pit Bulls as people think they're agressive...which they're not. It sucks.
Your question about genre of music/label. I see punk as a state of mind, it is neither music nor label, your punk or you're not. The music is not called punk it's called punk rock.

I think it is a sad and Horrific thing to go thru as a Teen!!
Even as an Adult it can be hurtfull!!

But in Reality=
NOBODY can make you feel anyway you dont want to--But that is a dufficult frame of Mind to get too.
I say--NOMATTER what others say---Hold Your Head High--cuz if you Ignore them and Rise Above it--they will eventually leave you alone & if they Dont--they are Really just belittling themselves!
